Why an air quality assessment of your house?

Our homes can contain harmful agents, such as chemicals, biological irritants and many others. Since we spend most of our time in our homes, it is important to ensure that the quality of the air we breathe daily is good. It should be noted that no house is immune to poor air quality. Contrary to popular belief, the age of a building is not a predominant factor when it comes to the presence or absence of contaminants in the indoor environment. Indeed, recent homes may also experience indoor air quality problems, for a variety of reasons such as inadequate natural or mechanical ventilation, poor humidity management, poor building design or more other possible problems.

In fact, even the outside environment can play an important role in the quality of the air you breathe at home. For example, the presence of a busy road or a nearby factory can negatively affect the air quality that you will have indoors. An assessment of the presence of contaminants in indoor air, as offered by our service in your home, aims precisely to distinguish the true from the false and to identify the causes and sources of contaminants in your home so that you can improve the quality of the air you breathe.

What is the air quality assessment?

The objective of our air quality assessment service is to identify the main potential contaminants present in your home and guide you towards obtaining cleaner indoor air.

Our specIally trained inspectors make a visual inspection of the premises in order to get a clear portrait of the contaminants that are present, whether they are biological contaminants such as mold or chemical or physical contaminants. It uses certain tools, for example a blower door test which will be used for carrying out an infiltrometry test. This test will allow you to know if the air in your house is sufficiently renewed and if you need, for instance, to install an air exchanger system or learn the right way to use it according to the needs of your home.

In addition to the inspection and the various tests it will do, the technician will install a device for measuring radon concentration in your home. Depending on the needs, an air quality test which will in fact aim to check for the presence of spores of mold may also be carried out. Subsequently, a report will be sent to you quickly and will include all the points checked during the assessment as well as easy and accessible solutions to solve most of problematic situations that we will have encountered
